'Love it or Leave it' - Tommee Tippee Microwave Steriliser

20:29

I'll be completely honest... I've never used an electric steriliser so if this seems a little one sided then I apologise!

So my choice is the Tommee Tippee  'Closer to Nature' Microwave Steriliser..

Cost is around £16 - £20, and it comes with a dummy and a diddy bottle! Oo and teat tongs! Do what you will with those...

I'm a bit freaky when it comes to being organised, once I get something in my mind I can't let it go... and so the inside of the steriliser totally satisfies me!

There's a loading basket inside; there are indents to hold the bottles upside down, teat racks and a place in the middle to put the lids. Obviously the steam will rise up and catch inside the bottle, as well as out, and the angle on the teats provides the same sterilising cover.

It holds four bottles and sterilises them all in 4 minutes. This will depend on your microwave power so make sure you check before you start cooking your bottles! It keeps everything in it sterile for up to 24 hours, apparently, if you keep the lid closed. It is really light, so if you travel a lot it's ideal! And it's pretty small. I keep mine in the microwave (surprisingly!) and just fill it up as I go along.

I don't travel a lot, and so for me, I wish it was slightly larger in terms of how many bottles it holds but it's easy and affordable, which is super important when you have a bubba...! You can also use the lid (if you turn it upside down) as a place to prepare your feeds... I think this was designed by a woman; multi-tasking steriliser or what...?

My suggestion for anything with the baby tag applied to it, is that you shop around. Don't do what I did when I made my very first purchase (see the above) and assume that £30 is the cheapest you'll be able to find it! Lots of sites do lots of different deals, and you may think to yourself, why bother going to the more expensive companies to look...? They actually do come up cheaper sometimes!
For example, 6 bottles £25 ASDA. The supposed bargain shop. Same 6 bottles £13.50. Mamas and Papas.

There's no reason why you can't get everything you need for a saving, it just takes a bit of time and effort!

I personally love it, for the above reasons of course, but would be great to hear what your preferences are, and whether you feel I should upgrade to the electric steriliser?
