My Post Pregnancy Body

23:34

A dreaded topic as well as pre-pregnancy thought.

Your post pregnancy body.

Now what can I say about mine?

Throughout my teen years, I struggled with my weight. I yoyo-ed up and down more times than you can say cupcake! And so, it's always been something that I'm constantly aware of.

When I met my husband, I was at my heaviest so I was fortunate enough to set the bar low. He loved me when I was proper chubs! That's when you know you've got a winner ladies.. They truly don't care!
From then on, I'd go from spending weeks doing two hour classes every day, to suddenly doing nothing for months at a time. Never consistent!

So you can imagine what my thoughts were when I first fell pregnant. Oh my god.

I'm gonna be huge!

And so I weighed myself every week, I was careful with what I ate, and thanks to that wonderful thing we call 'Morning Sickness' (that happens all day!!) I barely gained 2 stone throughout my whole pregnancy. As a matter of fact, I was so sick to start with that I lost 8lbs. Hell yeah!

I know this isn't the norm, and I'm not here to preach about my lack of mummy tummy - it's there I promise you, I didn't have a six pack to start with, so when people say I got my figure back, it was hardly difficult! But I've actually learned to love my body a whole lot more.

Okay, so I'm not overawed by my thighs, stomach or arms let's say, but what woman is? I'm proud that I have my 'tiger stripes'. They show what I went through as a mother and being fortunate enough to carry a child! Why would I want to hide that?

Now this doesn't mean you're going to find me on Sandbanks Beach, starkers, but I'm comfortable in my clothes, I'm comfortable with my husband, and I'm comfortable in my own skin.

What matters most, of course, is how you feel about yourself and you gotta do what you gotta do to feel that way! Even if that means getting back to your pre-baby body as soon as possible. I'm not judging! I just hope that those of you out there who do feel insecure remember what we were put here for, and how lucky we are.

I'm sure there's tonnes of women out there who would swap there skinny bottoms for guaranteed reassurance of carrying a baby!
