LIFE UPDATE

11:55

I appreciate that there has been a serious radio silence on my blog and YouTube channel for a few weeks now so thought I'd give you guys a little update on what's been going on and what I've been up to.

I worked a lot of Christmas, at the Birth Centre seeing gorgeous December babies being born and on projects relating to my vlogging. As most of you will know I work a lot of nights and often this will take me out for a few days trying to get back to some sort of family routine. It isn't conducive to vlogging as I want to curl up in a ball and sleep all day so the gaps speak for themselves. If I haven't filmed in days then that will be the reason!

We've had a house move planned since the summer but despite having time on our side we still decided to pack last minute. At the beginning of the month, we managed to get all our belongings into the new house, a Christmas tree up and some sort of order set in place. Vlogging takes so much time, I don't think people fully appreciate how a simple video of around 6 to 7 minutes can take lots of time to film of course, but 3/4 hours to edit. You don't start off with small chunks of footage, you don't start off with titles, transitions, audio. It all has to be put together to look effective and to fit all of that in around a house move and attempting to get a your baby boy in a secure, comfortable routine so that he feels happy and safe is just not something I was willing to do. Any time I had spare was going on Theo as it should considering he had to sit watching us pack/unpack!

Amidst that, there are the usual and personal family issues that I'm sure everyone goes through. Although I choose to share my life with you guys that doesn't take away from the fact that things go on behind closed doors that will remain there. This sounds WAY more dramatic than I'm intending to be but I guess the only way I can explain it as I've said before is that every person may be a fighting a battle we know nothing about so it's important to remember to always be kind. Appearances for each individual may not always be what they seem so give others benefit of the doubt! I look like I'm ignoring my writing but there may be good reason.

On a lighter note, we had a wonderful Christmas as a family at my Mum and Dad's house. My husband and I love going, it's a busy household with everyone together and that. for us, is what the festive period is all about. It was so lovely to watch Theo open his presents and although I had to go to work for a few hours. I truly made up for my absence when I got home. There's no better feeling that opening the front door and having (nearly) your entire family in one room, laughing, joking, embracing one another. We are very blessed! We also got to spend some lovely time with my in laws.. after missing Christmas dinner being at work, my father in law made an amazing vegetarian meal for me so I was lucky enough to celebrate Christmas twice!

Our best friends also got engaged in December too so it's two more weddings to go to and lots to plan which is obviously super exciting!

2016 is going to be a great year for our family, new home, new opportunities and lots of love and happiness too.

Want to see what we got up to at Christmas.. Check out my new vlog too!
