NIGHT SHIFTS AS A MAMA: TIPS AND TRICKS

12:49

I remember my first night shift.

I lay on the cold, hard, laminated floor of the birth centre, the smell of cleaning products perfusing the air, shivering and hallucinating the hours away wondering if I would ever make it until morning.

Okay so it didn't quite happen like that but you get the jist.

Night shifts when you are a sprightly, young whippersnapper aren't pleasant but imagine having to do them when you have your own non-requested alarm clock, someone that relies on you every hour keeping you awake anyway..

They are hard, they are long and they require many attributes you never knew you had but once you get into a flow, you'll stop shuddering at the thought and start dealing with it.

This video is no miracle busting, caffeine fuelled tablet that you can pop to keep you sane but I hope that you take something away from it at the very least.
